Services
Our dialysis unit is located on the east wing of the second floor of the main hospital. We have 8 dialysis stations including isolation station for providing dialysis treatments to patients who are in isolation. We provide both hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis services to hospitalized patients, 24 hours, 7 days a week. Our unit also serves as a transition unit for patients who are initiated on hemodialysis and waiting for placement at other dialysis units.
We provide dialysis services to a diverse population with wide spectrum of pathology. This provides an excellent educational opportunity for the fellows in training to understand and become exceptionally competent in diagnosing unique medical diseases that are rarely seen in this country. This experience also makes them overwhelmingly sensitive to cultural differences that are commonly seen when dealing with chronic medical conditions. Overall our dialysis unit offers unique educational experience to both our fellows and residents, which enriches their learning experience.
