To assure that John Stroger Hospital is continuing to meet the needs of our patients, we are always evaluating the care provided by the hospital and staff. We use quality standards established by state and national organizations, such as the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). Visiting Hours
Medical/Surgical Units - Family members and friends are welcome to visit patients on our Medical/Surgical Units from 11 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Sunday.
Intensive Care Unit - Has 24 hours open visitation. Siblings under 12 years of age are not permitted in the ICU.
The Women's Maternity Center allows visitors from 11 a.m. to 8:00 pm. No childern under 12 are premitted. Spouse, siblings and grandparents have open visitation. For infant security, all visitors to the Women's Center will be screened before entering the unit.
Cafeteria Services
We operate a full-service cafeteria that offers breakfast from 6:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m., lunch from 10:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. & dinner meals from 3:15 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Visitors can enjoy their meal in our comfortable dining room or request takeout packaging in order to dine with a patient.
